Who Qualifies for a Pardon?
- You were convicted of a felony in a Wisconsin court.
- You have completed your entire sentence ( including probation and parole).
- It's been five years since you completed your sentence.
- You have no pending criminal charges.
- You have NOT been charged with any new criminal offences since your last conviction.
- You have not committed any new crimes since your last conviction.
- You are not currently required to register as a sex offender.
- You are not currently incarcerated or on supervision.
- You can show personal growth, be coachable, demonstrate accountability, and readiness.
*Pardons are available for Wisconsin state convictions only.
(Federal or out-of-state convictions must go through separate processes.)
*A pardon does not expunge your record, but it does restore civil rights (e.g., firearm ownership, professional licensing, voting, holding public office).
